State Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) Policies Database Data Collection Protocol 2021
Description:
The Data Collection Protocol was developed specifically for the SCAN Policies Database project to collect information about states' definitions and policies from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico through a review and coding process of state statutes and policy documentation. The scope of the SCAN Policies Database Data Collection Protocol includes the following topics: (1) definitions of child abuse and neglect, (2) reporting, (3) screening, (4) investigation, (5) child welfare response, and (6) child welfare system context.
