canDL Instructions

canDL Instructions

canDL is a database of citations maintained by NDACAN staff. The database is hosted at Zotero.org, a free, open-source, web-based tool for managing citations and pdfs, and creating bibliographies.

You do NOT need to log in or to register for a Zotero account to use canDL.

If you would like the Citations listed in APA (or another) style.

  • In the NDACAN Zotero canDL, check the citation or citations you want.
  • Click the 'Cite' button at the top right of the page (icon of 3 bulleted lines).
  • Select the 'Style' from the dropdown list.
  • Copy and paste the text into to a document.

If you would like to create Your Own Personal Zotero Database:

Click on https://www.zotero.org and follow the instructions to download. Note: You do NOT need to log in or to register for a Zotero account to use canDL.

If you would like to Import to another citation management software database, you can!

  • In the Zotero canDL check the citation or citations you want.
  • Click the 'Export' button at the top right of the page (icon of envelope with arrow).
  • Choose the format for your software and save the file with the correct extension.
  • Import per your software instructions.
