Linda Cordisco-Steele is a trainer at NCAC, as well as an interviewer. She is pretty close to you. SHe may be an ideal source for training. On Tue, Dec 1, 2015 at 5:36 PM, Many, Michele > wrote:
Thanks to you all for your quick response. I am looking at developing some training here for our interns around working with these younger survivors as very few clinicians are willing to take them on. We have a fellowship in Infant Mental Health and we often get these cases referred from our CAC when there is "no finding" but they are concerned about the child. I'll be in touch in the coming days to learn more about the programs and colleagues you have cited. I am familiar with Dr. Hewitt and have been fortunate to attend trainings by Dr. Colbourn-Faller and by Dr. Geffner, as well as with Linda Cordisco-Steele, so I am glad to see I am on the right track. Thanks again for your helpful responses.

The National Children's Advocacy Center in Huntsville, AL, does forensic interviews and extended assessments of very young children. Other CACs will interview 4 and 5 year olds. Sandra Hewitt, Ph.D., has written about and conducted assessments of children 18 months and older, but she has retired. Her book, published by Sage in 1999, is entitled Assessing Allegations of Sexual Abuse in Preschool Children: Understanding Small Voices. Children's Hospital at Harvard used to conduct extended assessments with very young children, but the program was closed for financial reasons. The person to contact is Amy Tishelman, Ph.D., email Amy.Tishelman@childrens.harvard.edu .

Are there any programs besides Dr. Colbourn-Faller's that does clinical evaluation of children aged 5 and younger who were alleged to have been sexually abused, but who have been judged by forensic interviewers as unable to be interviewed due to their age and/or ability to talk about their experiences, or who have made inconsistent outcries and thus are not likely to have their cases investigated further?
