The LONGSCAN studies http://www.unc.edu/depts/sph/longscan/ may have some of the info you're looking for. In particular, the Seattle site for which Diana English is the PI has followed a cohort of children from CPS-reported families for more than 20 years now and will have good data on re-reports and family trajectories over time.

Not big numbers, but Bryron Egeland's and L. Alan Sroufe's work on a longitudinal study of neglect would have some inter-generational data, I think. One website that would help start the search is: http://www.integratedsociopsychology.net/Attachment_Theories/MinnesotaLongitudinalStudy-AlanSroufe,El.html

Hello everyone. I am interested in finding information, such as prevalence data, about parents in the child welfare system who were also involved in the system when they were children. I know there have been a number of studies on maltreatment across generations, but I am specifically interested in system-involved families. I have read Marshall, Huang and Ryan's 2011 paper, but I am not finding much else. Anecdotally this should be a sizable portion of families.
Thank you.
