About the CMRL
The goal of the CMRL is to facilitate information exchange and networking among researchers in the field of child abuse and neglect. The scope of the list includes all areas of CAN research (e.g., epidemiology, etiology, prevention, consequences, intervention, and treatment) and the full range of research issues (e.g., measurement, instrumentation, statistical analysis, ethics). The CMRL is not open to discussions of program-related or clinical issues except as they relate to research. This welcome message details the CMRL policies and contains information about how to get help: please keep a copy for future reference.
Message Approval Policy

How to Post
Send your message to CHILD-MALTREATMENT-RESEARCH-L@lists.cornell.edu
Posting Policy
Only subscribers may post to the CMRL. Specifically, this means that only e-mails containing a subscribed e-mail address in the From: field reach the Moderator. Messages from non-subscriber addresses are rejected to protect list resources against spam. CMRL subscribers can subscribe under as many of their e-mail addresses as desired if they want to post from different accounts. Of course, subscribing under multiple e-mail addresses means that you receive CMRL postings at each of those addresses.
Attachments Policy
Subscribers should not use attachments in their messages. Attachments present a virus risk to other list members, and they can be extremely inconvenient for members with slower Internet connections. Please place your content within the email message itself, not as an attachment. In the vast majority of cases, messages with attachments will be discarded by the CMRL Moderator.
Auto-Reply Policy
Subscribers should refrain from using the Auto-Reply feature available in many e-mail programs. Auto-Replies are messages that are sent to people automatically when you are on vacation. When a subscriber selects this option, the CMRL Moderator receives an auto-reply for every post to the list. If you must use the auto-reply feature, please unsubscribe from the list while you are on vacation and re-subscribe upon your return.
Default Reply Setting
This list is configured so that your reply to a message is sent to the entire list, not to the author of the original message. Therefore, if you click "Reply" to a message from the list, your message will be submitted to the CMRL Moderator for posting -it will not go to the author of the original posting. If you need to contact only the author of a posting, please copy their email address from their signature and email them privately.
All CMRL Messages Become Public
All postings to the CMRL are published on the National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect (NDACAN) Web site for the benefit of the research community. If you do agree to participate, please adjust your e-mail signature to remove information that you do not want published. NOTE: NDACAN WILL NOT REMOVE OR REDACT POSTINGS FROM THE WEB SITE.
