Join NDACAN Office Hours on April 10th! FLASH TALKS FROM NDACAN DATA USERS NDACAN April Office Hours will feature Drs. Melissa Bright and Jenna Shelton who will share their experience and current projects utilizing NDACAN data! Come join us on Friday, April 10th at 11am-12pm EST to hear about their research and work! Registration is required and can be completed using the link below. Dr. Melissa Bright earned her PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Georgia. After 8 years at the University of Florida, she left academia to found the Center for Violence Prevention Research to conduct accessible, practice-oriented research in partnership with community organizations. Her work has been funded by major agencies including the CDC and NSF, published in journals such as JAMA Pediatrics and MMWR, and she serves on several national and state violence prevention committees and boards. Dr. Jenna Shelton is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis whose research centers on child welfare policy, kinship care, and family wellbeing. Their work investigates how child welfare policies and multi-system involvement affect marginalized youth. Drawing on their lived experience within the child welfare system and professional expertise, Dr. Shelton brings an informed lens to their scholarship, grounding their research in the realities of families and youth involved with child protective services.
