Subject:Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Notre Dame

Dear colleagues, I am pleased to announce a postdoctoral research fellowship position within my lab at the University of Notre Dame. Please see details below and linked above. Feel free to share widely. Questions can be sent to me directly at kristin.valentino@nd.edu . Sincerely, Kristin -- A POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW position is available in the Development and Psychopathology Laboratory of Dr. Kristin Valentino in the Department of Psychology and Shaw Center for Children and Families at the University of Notre Dame. The Development and Psychopathology Lab has several ongoing and recently completed NIH funded studies focused on examining the mechanisms through which early adversity affects children’s development and risk for psychopathology across multiple levels of analysis, as well as studies evaluating the efficacy of interventions aimed at supporting healthy development, preventing child maltreatment, and preventing self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (R01HD071933 , R01HD091235 , 5R01MH133226 , R01HD114597 ). The fellowship will primarily involve supporting the dissemination of results from these studies. Primary responsibilities include analyzing data; preparing scientific publications; interfacing with investigators and participating in team meetings; grant development; and collaboration in training and oversight of graduate and undergraduate research assistants in observational coding and data management. The fellow will also have opportunities to provide mentorship and collaborate with doctoral students, to supervise undergraduate research, and, if desired, to prepare mentored external grant applications. The research environment at Notre Dame is highly collaborative with opportunities to extend or develop new ideas in an interdisciplinary environment. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Clinical, Developmental, or Quantitative Psychology or related fields. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated productivity in terms of published journal articles and scientific conference presentations is expected. Knowledge and expertise with advanced statistical techniques such as SEM, growth curve modeling, MLM, etc. are preferred. Experience in any of the following areas is particularly relevant: developmental psychopathology, typical or atypical socio-emotional and cognitive development, memory development, child maltreatment, mother-child interactions, and/or mother-child stress physiology and psychobiology. This is a full-time, in-person position. The postdoctoral fellowship may be renewable for a second year based on job performance and funding availability, by mutual agreement. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines. Professional development funds to support conference travel are also available. The position is available to begin in the Summer or Fall of 2026. Interested applicants should send (1) a letter of application indicating research interests, experience, quantitative skills, career goals, and how joining the Development & Psychopathology Lab will advance those goals; (2) a curriculum vita; (3) two examples of scholarship; and (4) the contact information for three professional references to Dr. Kristin Valentino at Kristin.valentino@nd.edu . Applications are due by December 15th to receive full consideration. -- Kristin Valentino, Ph.D. Professor of Psychology Director, Veldman Family Psychology Clinic William J.
