Subject:Animal abuse and neglect and risk and safety assessments

The Keystone Coalition group (PA focused collaboration between domestic violence, CYS and animal welfare) asked me to find information about whether risk and safety assessments are including questions about animal abuse and neglect. The group was wondering if any states were doing this now, and if any valid safety and risk measures currently include indicators. If you are aware of any, please contact me at mar104@pitt.edu. Likewise, if you are aware of a state that has included them, please let me know, even if you don't know the particulars about the assessment. There is a bill (HR 712,the child and animal abuse detection and reporting act which will amend CAPTA to include information about animal abuse. I can't attach it due to the listserve rules, but if you want information and a pdf contact nancy blaney nancy@awionline.org or me at mar104@pitt.edu Thanks in advance, Mary Elizabeth Rauktis, RN, LSW , Ph.D. Research Associate Faculty School of Social Work The University of Pittsburgh Pittsburgh PA 15260 412 716 9061 Mar104@pitt.edu preferred pronouns, she, her, their https://www.name-coach.com/mary-rauktis Fulbright Scholar 2017, Portugal; Fulbright Specialist 2022, India We recognize the University of Pittsburgh occupies the ancestral land of the Adena culture , Hopewell culture , and Monongahela peoples, who were later joined by refugees of other tribes (including the Delaware, Shawnee, and Haudenosaunee), driven here from their homelands by colonizers.
