Subject:NDACAN Office Hours 3/15

Hello all, This is a friendly reminder that the third NDACAN Office Hours event for the spring is happening this Friday, March 15th at 11 am ET! For those of you who have not attended, Office Hours are structured with a half hour dedicated to informal breakout rooms for various areas of support, including administrative data (e.g., AFCARS, NCANDS, NYTD), survey data (e.g., LONGSCAN, NSCAW), statistics help, and professional development. The second half hour is dedicated to a presentation or workshop. This month’s presentation will feature data user flash talks from Dr. Holly White-Wolfe of Chapin Hall and Dr. Vincent Palusci of New York University School of Medicine. Below are their respective bios. See also the attached flyer. Holly White-Wolfe Holly White-Wolfe is an independent researcher who studies public narrative, community mobilization, and adversity prevention. She is also a Senior Policy Analyst at Chapin Hall. White-Wolfe has a Ph.D. in (Social) Justice Studies from Arizona State University and extensive coursework in data analytics. Her flash talk highlights a recent study that combines AFCARS data with the new Neglect and Prevention Policies dataset to measure alignment between state-level neglect rates and neglect prevention efforts. Vincent Palusci Dr. Vincent J. Palusci is Professor of Pediatrics at New York University School of Medicine. He is a board certified general and child abuse pediatrician at Bellevue Hospital and NYU Langone Health. He is Editor in Chief of the journal Child Maltreatment and Board President of Prevent Child Abuse New York.
