I suggest Eli Newberger, MD, retired from Harvard Medical School for both Shaken Baby Syndrome and MSBP. He is a pioneering physician regarding Shaken Baby and MSBP. Maya was later found to be suffering from complex regional pain syndrome (or CRPS), a condition that causes pain and burning sensations in the extremities; it may result in respiratory problems, body aches, lethargy, headaches, blurred vision, and walking difficulties. Sadly, Maya’s mother committed suicide before it became clear that she had not abused the child.
