You might want to keep your eyes out on postdoc positions in places that have an explicit poverty and inequality emphasis. Here is a past listing through the Center on Poverty and Social Policy in Columbia's School of Social Work: https://csde.washington.edu/news-events/postdoctoral-scholar-in-poverty-and-social-policy-2/
University of Wisconsin-Madison also runs a National Poverty Fellows Program that pairs postdocs with federal agencies like DHHS:

Dear List,
By chance, does anyone know of postdoc programs that focus on maltreatment prevention by way of decreasing both inequality and insecurity? Perhaps, e.g., one that partners with lawmakers and community organizations to, say, shape the upcoming Federal Tax legislation in 2025 in order to begin to make resource distribution more fair and humane--if not also sane? Or do most postdocs tend to focus on post-maltreatment therapies, outcomes, etc.?
Best Wishes,

Two postdoctoral positions open at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) within the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect
Postdoctoral Fellow Research Position
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine is recruiting a post-doctoral level psychologist (clinical, counseling, or developmental), social worker, or social scientist for a full-time post-doctoral fellowship position.
This position will be devoted to work of the Environmental & Biological Research on ACEs and Resiliency (EmBRACER) program situated at the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect, in the Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics. The fellow will participate in research, forums and training opportunities provided through the EmBRACER program and our Biomedical and Behavioral Methodology Core, both directed by Dr. David Bard. This post-doctoral position will join an interdisciplinary team of implementation science and clinical trials investigators in an active research and training center with growing demand for expertise in the areas of adverse childhood experiences, child trauma and resilience, behavioral sequelae of trauma, and prevention of child abuse and neglect. This research team has ongoing collaborative relationships with state departments of health, human services, mental health, substance abuse, and education. The position will involve conducting and disseminating rigorous clinical research, obtaining extramural funding, and providing state and national training. Current research projects include randomized clinical trials of home-based parenting programs to prevent child abuse and neglect, early adversity and resiliency biomarker studies, mHealth intervention trials to increase positive parenting practices, secondary analyses of large state and national child maltreatment datasets, and mixed methods implementation science studies employing rapid tests of system changes, qualitative analyses, and quasi-experimental analysis of primary data collections. The demand for this work is rapidly increasing due to federal and state research grants. Applicants should send a letter of interest, official transcripts, a vita, and three letters of recommendation to David Bard, PhD, 1000 NE 13th, Nicholson Tower Suite 4900, Oklahoma City, OK 73104; David-Bard@ouhsc.edu ; (405) 271-8858.
