The Kempe Center is excited to host our annual one-week in-person Summer Interdisciplinary Research Institute from August 14, 2023, to August 18, 2023. Our Institute will feature intensive teaching and dedicated mentoring by national and international experts. One of our primary goals is to expand the pool of scholars trained to conduct child maltreatment research. We are actively recruiting participants for our Course 2: Challenges in Child Maltreatment Research AND Course 3: Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Research and Evaluation through a Public Health Lens. We would greatly appreciate your support in forwarding this information to your networks: Kempe Interdisciplinary Research Institute When: Monday, August 14, 2023 – Friday, August 18, 2023 Where: Kempe Center, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, 13123 E. 16th Ave, Aurora, CO 80045 Who: Course 2 is designed for graduate students who want to better understand where their research fits in the complex and ever changing child maltreatment field from a social welfare perspective. Course 3 is directed at graduate students seeking to learn how to evaluate large scale primary preventive intervention programs and policies from a public health perspective. Course names (2 and 3): Challenges in Child Maltreatment Research (Course 2) AND Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Research and Evaluation through a Public Health Lens (Course 3) Scholarships: Limited, competitive scholarships available, with emphasis on under-represented groups. Scholarships apply to tuition, travel, and housing. The deadline for scholarship applications is May 14, 2023.
