Subject:*Data Available*: Child and Caregiver Outcomes Using Linked Data (CCOULD)

Child and Caregiver Outcomes Using Linked Data (CCOULD) The National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect is pleased to announce the release of the dataset: Title: Child and Caregiver Outcomes Using Linked Data (CCOULD) Investigator(s): Tami L. Mark, PhD, RTI International Melissa Dolan, PhD, RTI International Benjamin Allaire, MS, RTI International Keith Smith, BS, RTI International William Parish, PhD, RTI International Christina Bradley, MA, RTI International Claire Strack, BS, RTI International Dataset Number: #272 Dataset description page: https://www.ndacan.acf.hhs.gov/datasets/dataset-details.cfm?ID=272 There is no charge to obtain this restricted dataset, but eligibility requirements apply. Abstract: The Child and Caregiver Outcomes Using Linked Data (CCOULD) project developed consistent state datasets containing linked child and caregiver welfare records and Medicaid claims and enrollment records. These datasets contain information from both child welfare and Medicaid information systems on case demographics, medical diagnoses, services, outcomes, and other relevant information. The purpose of the data is to support research on the relationships between Medicaid utilization, behavioral health services, patient-centered outcomes, and child welfare outcomes. Of particular interest are outcomes for families that may have substance use disorders, like opioid use disorder. The CCOULD project worked with Kentucky and Florida (specifically the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services) to produce linked, state-level data to support research on the relationships among Medicaid utilization, behavioral health services, patient-centered outcomes, and child welfare outcomes. State-level linked data were combined into a de-identified, standardized research use dataset containing data from the two participating states. Documentation for the data includes: 1. a codebook (available upon request) for each of the data files that includes a listing of the variables in the dataset, brief descriptions of the variables, variable names, variable labels, response categories, value ranges for continuous variables, and frequency distributions for categorical variables 2. a users’ guide that explains the background, purpose, and design of the study; the data de-identification procedures; the data limitations (e.g., missing data and tracking children who have moved to different states); and analytical considerations ________________________________ National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect (NDACAN) Duke University / Cornell University Telephone: 607-255-7799 Email: NDACAN@cornell.edu Website: www.ndacan.acf.hhs.gov Twitter: https://twitter.com/NDACAN_CU The National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect is a service of the Children’s Bureau | Administration for Children and Families | U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Unsubscribe from the Child Maltreatment Research List (CMRL)
