The Training Series centered on practical data management and analysis strategies which can assist in starting or pushing forward a research study using NDACAN data. The videos, slides, and transcripts have been published at this link: https://www.ndacan.acf.hhs.gov/events/2022-summer-webinars/2022-summer-webinars-listing.cfm CALL FOR DATA USERS TO SEND CITATIONS NDACAN maintains a reference list of scholarly work produced using Archive data. Researchers who publish articles based upon NDACAN data are encouraged to tag us @NDACAN_CU and include a clickable DOI link to the article with the hashtag of the dataset abbreviation and/or number which was used for the study (e.g. #NCANDS, #NYTD, #DS223, etc.). FORTHCOMING DATASETS NDACAN is currently processing datasets that were part of the Understanding Post Adoption and Guardianship Instability for Children and Youth Who Exit Foster Care (PAGI NSCAW Adoption Study) project with RTI International, Case Western Reserve, and East Carolina Universities, which were funded by ACF's Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE). The project aims to support efforts to build the capacity of federal, state, and local agencies to get accurate information about instability for children who exit foster care to adoption or guardianship. In order to examine these issues, two separate studies were conducted: 1. The Contact After Adoption or Guardianship: Child Welfare Agency and Family Interactions Study (released in Aug 2022 as DS#261) and 2. The Survey of National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being (NSCAW) Adopted Youth, Young Adults, Adults, and Adoptive Parents. This dataset contains data from The Survey of National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being (NSCAW) Adopted Youth, Young Adults, Adults, and Adoptive Parents, are expected to be released this fall. NDACAN is also processing the data for the National Quality Improvement Center for Adoption and Guardianship Support and Preservation (QIC-AG) project which was designed to promote permanence, when reunification is no longer a goal, and improve adoption and guardianship preservation and support. These data are expected to release this fall. NDACAN is the final stages of processing the Rockwool-Duke Global Child Welfare Database (RDGCWD) data. This data is the compilation of cross-national aggregate information from the Global North about children who experienced contact with child welfare systems (CWS) or child protective services (CPS) between 2000 and 2020. Data were collected from national child welfare agencies or national or transnational statistical agencies, and include measures of child maltreatment investigations, confirmed child maltreatment, and children in out-of-home care. This data are expected to be released this fall. NDACAN is processing the data for the Caregiver and Child Outcomes Using Linked Data (CCOULD) project with RTI International. These datasets contain information from both child welfare and Medicaid information systems on case demographics, medical diagnoses, services, outcomes, and other relevant information. The purpose of the data is to support research on the relationships between Medicaid utilization, behavioral health services, patient-centered outcomes, and child welfare outcomes. The data are expected to be released this fall.
