The application period will be from today, August 30, to September 19, 2022. The application and other information is on our website and can be found here . We are asking you all to share this information with your colleagues who are eligible to join CWRN if selected (see below for more information). Child Well-Being Research Network (CWRN) Accepting Applications The Child Well-Being Research Network (CWRN) is now accepting applications for new members. Driven by its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, the Network extends a special invitation to applicants who have been traditionally excluded from research careers and networks. You can find more information below and on our website . The Child Well-Being Research Network’s mission is to be a collaborative network promoting child well-being and maltreatment prevention through interdisciplinary research that informs policy and practice. The vision of the network is well-being for all children and families. We are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within research and in the community of researchers. The CWRN currently has 154 members . It was founded by the 120 Fellows in the Doris Duke Fellowships for the Promotion of Child Well-Being, a fellowships program housed at Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago and generously funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. As the fellowships program came to an end, we transitioned into the Child Well-Being Research Network to continue our focus on interdisciplinary, applied research to promote well-being for children and families. We welcomed the first cohort of new members in July 2021. Members will be selected via a transparent and equitable selection process, led by the CWRN Membership Committee. Applicants should be doctoral students and early career scholars (doctoral students who are within a couple years of completing their dissertations or individuals within 5 years of receiving their Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree), and should meet the following criteria: * Conduct, have conducted, or are interested in conducting research (including applied research/evaluation) on child and family well-being or the prevention of child maltreatment; * Represent diverse and inclusive perspectives in the conduct of research on child and family well-being or the prevention of child maltreatment; * Interested in collaboration with other researchers; * Demonstrate commitment to research informing policy and practice; * Demonstrate commitment to the Network’s goals; and * Practice ethical research. New Members can participate in networking activities including, but not limited to, the following: * Writing groups and writing retreats; * Networking events; * Monthly newsletters, membership listserv; * Committee participation and leadership (e.g., Communications; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice; Membership; Network Programming) * Mentoring; * Affinity groups (e.g., Researchers of Color, Working Parents, Qualitative Researchers); and * Learning opportunities (e.g., webinars). Benefits of CWRN Membership include: * Interdisciplinary connections to potential collaborators, methodologists, and content experts in various topics related to child & family well-being and child maltreatment prevention; * Access to training and leadership development; * Opportunities to disseminate work; * Research highlighted on the CWRN website and newsletter; * Participation in Network activities; * Participation in active CWRN listserv; and * Opportunity to serve in leadership of the Network. Responsibilities of CWRN Membership include: * Willingness to share research or other professional works with members; * Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and CWRN activities; * Participation in the CWRN by volunteering time to support network activities; * Completion of website profile updates; and * Model the values of the CWRN in other professional settings and aspects of work.
