Responsibilities and Duties: Data Analyses * Develop functions, macros, templates and other utilities for creating reusable code for data cleaning and reporting * Build programs to create data files/tables from delimited files and other data sources and load them to a relational database. * Perform validation of and quality assurance aspects of all programming activities * Write detailed data analytic plans to address research questions * Develop detailed and well-documented programs to manage, manipulate, and analyze complex data sources * Create/define new variables from existing data Reporting and Results and Responding to Special Request * Write programs to generate presentation-quality tables, listings, and data sets * Perform analyses defined in the statistical analysis plans as well as ad-hoc analyses as requested * Effectively communicate data analytic procedures and results to other researchers, administrators, and agency and community partners * Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a scientific discipline required. Minimum of two years of experience writing Python, SQL, SAS, or R code for data analyses /management. Demonstrated skills in the management and resolution of programming bugs and errors. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or Ph.D. advance knowledge of data management and analyses using SQL, Python, R, or SAS. Knowledge of the child welfare field preferred. Familiarity with Linux systems a plus. Knowledge Requirements: Demonstrated proficiency in data management and analyses using Python libraries. The use of at least one of the following data analytic tools SAS, SQL, Python, or R. Working knowledge of relational databases. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong analytic and organizational skills. Proficiency in the use of version control tools such as GitLab or GitHub. Ability to work independently and effectively follow through with multiple priorities under deadline pressure. Demonstrate proficiency using various statistical software programs. SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION This is a full-time (100%), twelve month non-tenure track academic professional position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
