National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Agency File FFY 2020 The National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect is pleased to announce the release of this dataset: Title: National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Agency File FFY 2020 Investigator(s): Children's Bureau, Department of Health and Human Services Dataset Number: #254 Dataset description page: https://www.ndacan.acf.hhs.gov/datasets/dataset-details.cfm?ID=254 Abstract:The National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System, Agency File (State Summary), dataset consists of State-specific data of all investigated reports of maltreatment to State child protective service agencies. The NCANDS is a federally-sponsored national data collection effort created for the purpose of tracking the volume and nature of child maltreatment reporting each year within the United States. These data are collected within the federal fiscal year starting October 1st and ending September 30th, rather than the calendar year. Data on funding of services, number of children screened out, number of Child Protective Services staff, preservation services, reunification, and child fatalities are included.
