The University of Colorado Denver l Anschutz Medical Campus is accepting applications for a full time Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 2-year postdoctoral research fellowship designed to support the development of a Fellow who wishes to become an independent investigator in the field of child maltreatment and/or child welfare. We expect the candidate will be within 5-years of receiving a doctoral degree. The Fellow is expected to assist and collaborate on projects and programs at the Center, engage in scholarly activities, and participate in coursework, workshops and seminars toward the development of an independent program of research. There may also be opportunities for clinical supervision and as well as collaboration with several multidisciplinary, multi-university research groups. In addition, the Fellow will have opportunities to publish and to apply for external funding. Current research projects at the Kempe Center focus on children who are at risk for or have experienced child maltreatment and/or other types of child trauma as well as youth-serving systems including child welfare, community mental health, and policy development. The recent projects, funded by both federal and local grants, have tested interventions in randomized controlled trials, conducted developmental risk research, evaluated effective strategies for community-based implementation of evidence-based child abuse and mental health practices, and studied the impact of major child welfare policies on the health, mental health, and development of youth.
