THE NDACAN UPDATA Fall 2021 (Vol. 55) The NDACAN Updata is your source for important Archive announcements. RECENT DATA RELEASES The following new datasets were made available this quarter: * National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Agency File, FFY 2019 by the Children's Bureau (Dataset #244) The following updates to previously released datasets were made available this quarter: * National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Child File, FFY 2019 by the Children's Bureau (Dataset #237), version 2 * National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Agency File, FFY 2018 by the Children's Bureau (Dataset #234), version 3 * National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Child File, FFY 2018 by the Children's Bureau (Dataset #233), version 3 * National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) Child File, FFY 2017 by the Children's Bureau (Dataset #221), version 4 If you missed the opportunity to download an update, you can request to receive it by emailing NDACAN@cornell.edu with ‘request data update’ in the subject line and the dataset(s) name, number, and your contact information in the message. MONTHLY OFFICE HOURS NDACAN will be hosting monthly office hours from 11am to 12pm EST on the 2nd Friday of each month from September to December. The Office Hours are an opportunity to get support from our team and chat with other data users in an informal setting. The first 30 minutes are open time consisting of breakout rooms with NDACAN staff to provide support for survey data, administrative data, statistical consulting, and networking. The second 30 minutes are dedicated to a specific theme, presentation, or workshop. Please look at our schedule of forthcoming themes on the Events page of our website (https://www.ndacan.acf.hhs.gov/events/events.cfm) and register to attend the free events. If you are not able to attend an office hour event or need more formal support, remember you are always welcome to submit dataset questions to NDACANsupport@cornell.edu . The series had presentations from Archive staff and introductions from Children’s Bureau. We highlighted the survey data products available through NDACAN, the administrative data and linking potential of these data products, and had two data analysis workshops! Many of the video recordings, presentation slides, and transcripts are available at the following website, with others being added soon: https://www.ndacan.acf.hhs.gov/events/2021-summer-webinars/2021-summer-webinars-listing.cfm NDACAN AT APHA CONFERENCE NDACAN will have an exhibit booth at the 2021 American Public Health Association Annual Meeting in Denver, CO on October 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th. NDACAN staff will be available to respond to questions about archiving data with NDACAN and using our data for secondary analysis projects. Please stop by the booth to say hello!
