Subject:NDACAN Office Hours for Feb

Hello everyone, Happy Monday! The next NDACAN Office Hours event is just around the corner and we are thrilled to announce a schedule for themes for the coming events. As a reminder, Office Hours is a new event series where the first thirty minutes is open time for networking and informal data support, and the second thirty minutes of each monthly office hours will have a theme. The Office Hours events will occur on the 4th Friday of each month, the themes are outlined below, and these are largely informal events. We hope you’ll swing by and join us for a chat or some support! The next NDACAN Office Hour event is on Friday February 26th from 11am - 12pm EST, and the theme is the Summer Research Institute (SRI)! The SRI is an online distance learning experience in the secondary analysis of child abuse and neglect data. Participants are selected on a competitive basis to receive one-on-one support from our data analysts and statisticians. We’ll be discussing the event and the application selection process, as well as answering any questions. We are also seeking applications to do 8-minute presentations of work-in-progress using NDACAN data for the Data User Flash Tasks presentations as part of the Office Hours event for Friday April 23rd. If you are interested in presenting your work, please email me by Monday March 1st with a title and 150 word abstract. We are seeking two presenters! This is great opportunity for graduate students or early career folks to get feedback on a study from data/content experts. If you have any questions about the event feel free to email me (Erin McCauley, Graduate Research Associate at NDACAN, ejm354@cornell.edu ) or just swing by!
