Subject: ResilienceCon 2021—Call for Submissions
Hello all,
We hope you and your loved ones are safe and that you have found some peace and happiness this year despite all the turmoil and sadness.
We are making plans for ResilienceCon 2021, which will be April 11-13.
Given this time of uncertainty, we are making flexible plans.
It is our hope that we will be able to hold a hybrid conference, with some people attending in person in Nashville at the Scarritt Bennett Center, our usual venue, and some people attending virtually.
We are also making plans to move the conference fully online, if public health guidance suggests that is the best option. We have been heartened by the creativity that many have shown during the pandemic and believe there are many ways to create connection despite the distance.
If you had a submission accepted to ResilienceCon 2020 (which was canceled due to the pandemic), you do not need to resubmit. Accepted 2020 submissions are automatically accepted for 2021. We will be in touch with you later in the year to determine whether you would still like to give that presentation. You will also be able to update your abstracts at that time.
We also invite new submissions on all topics related to strengths-based approaches for research, prevention, and intervention for reducing and overcoming violence and other adversities.
For 2021, we will be offering two submission deadlines: The General Submission deadline will be November 2, 2020, 11:59 PM CST. We also recognize that the results of some of the most exciting projects may not be available until closer to the actual conference, so we also offer a Late-Breaking Submission deadline, which will be January 22, 2021, 11:59 PM CST. Submissions for the Late-Breaking deadline should focus on new projects that have not yet been presented at other conferences, ideally for studies that are completed after the general submission deadline.
Professional community is more important than ever during this time, and we hope you will be able to join us in April 2021.
In the meantime, we are also working to create other opportunities for professional community. Today we are launching a mindful writing group and soon we will be launching other groups, such as one on writing and sharing reflexivity statements.
The best way to keep up with our activities is to join our free listserv, ResComm (for Resilience Community). To subscribe, send an email with “Subscribe ResComm” in the subject line to lifepaths@lifepathsresearch.org .
