Subject:Re: nursing programs in child welfare programs
Massachusetts has a pediatric sexual assault nurse examiner program. There is statewide training and--I believe--certification. Sorry I don't know any more about this or how it integrates with child welfare teams. I was involved in writing the cultural competence part of the curriculum years ago. I believe Mass. is unusual in having a statewide SANE curriculum, and a specific pediatric SaNE curriculum.

As a part of an evaluation in Oklahoma, I'm gathering any information available on the use of nurses as a part of child welfare teams in any part of state-agency child welfare processes. Grant reports, gray papers, etc are welcome - the resources need not be peer-reviewed.
