Subject:Permanency Planning Evaluation Coordinator at Juvenile Protective Association

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a job opening at Juvenile Protective Association (JPA) for a permanency planning evaluation coordinator. JPA partners with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work on the Illinois Birth Through Three IV-E Waiver evaluation. Please spread the word about this great opportunity! If you have questions, you may contact Stephen Budde, PhD at sbudde@jpachicago.edu or sbudde@uchicago.edu . Permanency Planning Evaluation Coordinator The Juvenile Protective Association (JPA) is in search of a full time clinical social worker to be the Coordinator for our Permanency Planning Evaluation (PPE) team. In challenging foster care cases, the PPE team conducts independent clinical and forensic assessments for DCFS, private agencies, and the juvenile court. These cases involve children and families in which there is considerable uncertainty and/or disagreements among parties about what permanency option is in the best interest of a child and what are the best next steps in permanency planning. The PPE Coordinator is an active participant in clinical assessments (e.g., reviewing records, conducting interviews and observations of adult-child interactions, writing sections of reports, and proofreading reports). The Coordinator is responsible for handling intake and administrative responsibilities, including scheduling of interviews for the team, tracking activities and outcomes, and communications with DCFS program monitoring staff. The ideal candidate will have a clinical license, with experience and skills in the following areas: conducting clinical assessments of parents and children in child welfare and mental health ; project management; writing and proofreading clinical reports; working collaboratively with the psychologist and social worker on the PPE team, as well as the DCFS monitoring staff. Knowledge of child development, attachment relationships, and parenting practices is important. Applicants must be able to accommodate interviews that periodically take place in the evenings and on weekends depending on our client’s needs. Interviews and evaluations occur at the JPA office, as well as at locations throughout the greater Chicagoland area. Reliable transportation is necessary. Salary: up to $50k, dependent upon level of experience. JPA provides excellent health, retirement, and professional development benefits, and clinical supervision. Interested parties should email a letter of interest, CV and a writing sample to JPA’s Executive Vice President, Dr. Stephen Budde at sbudde@jpachicago.org . No phone calls, please. JPA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
