Subject:University of Oklahoma Medical School Faculty Position

Faculty Position The Section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time child psychology, developmental psychology, or public health faculty at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level with research in child maltreatment. Candidates must have completed an APA approved graduate program. If clinical or counseling psychology focused, the candidate must have completed an APA approved internship and be licensed (eligible) in Oklahoma. Post-doctoral Fellowship experience is preferred. This position will be at the Center on Child Abuse and Neglect, in the Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics. Further, the faculty member will participate in forums and trainings provided through our Biomedical and Behavioral Methodology Core, directed by Dr. David Bard. They will join an interdisciplinary team of implementation science researchers in an active research and training center that has a considerable growing demand for this level of expertise in the area of adverse childhood experiences, child trauma and resilience, behavioral sequelae of trauma, and prevention of child abuse and neglect. Further, this research team has ongoing collaborative relationships with and funding from our state departments of health, human services, mental health, and education. The position will involve conducting and disseminate rigorous clinical research, obtain extramural funding, and provide state and national training. Current research projects include funded research through the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visitation program, randomized clinical trials of home-based parenting programs to prevent child abuse and neglect, and trials examining implementation of training of family navigators. The demand for this work is rapidly increasing due to federal and state research grants.
