Subject:Congressional Briefing on Preventing Child Maltreatment

The Child Maltreatment Solutions Network would like to invite your attendance at a congressional briefing next week in DC regarding the prevention of child maltreatment and how that relates to current efforts to reauthorize the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA). The event will begin by describing the research around preventing maltreatment and then provide a couple of examples of efforts occurring in states. We will also hear testimony from a former caseworker and survivor. The event will be live-streamed and recorded; we can plan to share the video after it has been edited. The event will occur twice, once for each congressional chamber: * House: Tues Dec 4, 2-3 pm EST in 421 Cannon * Senate: Wed Dec 5, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm EST in 385 Russell Please don't forget to RSVP ! sincerely, Taylor Scott, Ph.D. Research Assistant Professor Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center Pennsylvania State University
