Subject:Adoption of Children with Speical Needs: What Predicts Successful Outcomes?
Dear Collegaues,
We are looking for any research that has looked at attributes of prospective adoptives families that contribute to successful outcomes for special needs adoptions. For example, we would be grateful for references to any literature that looks at things like family constellation, number of children in the home, previous experience with a special needs child, etc. and their relative contribution to children's well-being, and family well-being. We are particularly interested in literature that looks at the adoption of children with complex special needs. We would also be interested in any literature that demonstrates what kinds of post-adoption supports seem to contribute to these outcomes.
