Subject:Re: Grandparents raising Younger Children
In the 1980's I was on the board of a community mental health center that ran a support group for custodial grandparents. There had been an explosion of grandparents assuming custody because of drug use by parents. I suspect the current drug abuse crisis is linked to a large number of grandparents raising grandchildren. I don't recall any literature -- but I'd take a look at the pre-digital era.
