FW: Interdisciplinary Research Leader recruiting now Please share with you networks as appropriate Below is some information on IRL and a link to the CFP. This year’s topics are: 1. Community Environment and Health 2. Families and Child Health As you may recall we look for teams of 2 researchers and 1 community partner to apply together. The program will to enhance their leadership skill to engage in community based, action oriented research. 1. Please share the CFP with your network – particularly those doing work in the two topic areas. Applications are now open! Do you want to apply your leadership skills, collaborate across sectors and disciplines, and use applied research to address a critical health issue in your community? If so, apply now to be an Interdisciplinary Research Leader. Applications are due March 11. Take the first step by registering for our applicant webinar to learn more about the program and how to complete a successful application, including: * What to expect from the application process. * Who is eligible and a good fit for the program. * How to build a strong interdisciplinary team and craft your team research proposal and team member biographies. * What it’s like to be a fellow in this program, including descriptions of the mentoring you’ll receive, the diverse researchers and leaders you’ll connect with, and the time and travel involved. January 23, 2020, 2–3 p.m. CT In the webinar, you’ll also learn more about our two themes for 2020: Community Environment and Health and Families and Child Health. In the program, researchers work with communities to ensure that their work addresses real-world needs and can be applied to create change. Community partners gain data-based insights to inform—and document the need for and impact of—their work. The three-year program takes our fellows on a transformative personal and professional journey that broadens their perspectives and strengthens their leadership approaches through collaboration, training, and application of the skills needed to carry out action-oriented research for health equity. Successful applicants also receive annual support of $25,000 per person and a one-time grant of up to $125,000 per team, which can be used to cover the cost of research and more.
