Subject:RE: nursing programs in child welfare programs

I did work on a study of this in my graduate program but didn’t do a formal research on it. In Alaska, there are 4 nurses who cover the child welfare offices by region and we serve at the level of a nurse consultant, psych nurse, Nurse IV (Level’s in our state are Nurse I-IV, with IV being the highest). We are employees of child welfare. In the studies I did superficially, it seemed that there are only a few states who have nurses working in or with child welfare clients and what I could find, most are Public Health nurses working in child welfare. I would be very interested in this study when complete and am willing to provide you whatever information I can with regards to what Alaska does. Thx, Cheryl Cheryl Blakney RNIV, BSN, MPH Regional Psych Nurse - Southcentral Region Office of Children's Services - DHSS Phone: (907) 352-8909 Cell Phone: (907) 414-7553 Fax: (907) 357-9762 (Attn: to Cheryl) From: bounce-123348608-73569657@list.cornell.edu [mailto:bounce-123348608-73569657@list.cornell.edu] On Behalf Of Grinnell Davis, Claudette L. As a part of an evaluation in Oklahoma, I’m gathering any information available on the use of nurses as a part of child welfare teams in any part of state-agency child welfare processes. Grant reports, gray papers, etc are welcome – the resources need not be peer-reviewed. Thanks for your help. Claudette L.
